The winner of the IHR’s Pollard Prize this year is Julie Mumby with ‘The descent of family land in later Anglo-Saxon England’ (originally given to the Earlier Middle Ages seminar). The runner up was Antonia Fitzpatrick with ‘Mendicant order politics and the status of Christ’s shed blood’ (European History 1150-1550 seminar).

We had another excellent field this year with a high number of entries and a very good standard throughout. The winning article and the runner-up will be published in the journal in 2011.
