Following his intriguing analysis of the late Dr. Alwyn Ruddock’s book proposal on the North American discovery voyages of John and Sebastian Cabot (‘Alwyn Ruddock: “John Cabot and the discovery of America”’, H.R., lxxxi, 2008), Evan Jones now publishes two ‘new’ documents, first discovered in the nineteen-seventies but never before seen in print. These documents reveal important new information about the voyages and confirm some of the remarkable, but previously unsubstantiated, claims about the expeditions made by Ruddock.
