Two new reviews have been published this week.

First, Edward Rugemer’s examination of the implications for the United States of the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean is assessed for a UK scholarly audience for the first time (review no. 751) by Susan-Mary Grant of the University of Newcastle. Professor Rugemer responds here.

Then we return to the crusades, with Susan Edgington’s review (no. 752) of Jonathan Phillips’ new book, The Second Crusade: Extending the Frontiers of Christendom.
