Happy new year one and all!  Hopefully everyone is looking forward to the year ahead even if it has started with gloomy weather and politicians warning of ‘worse yet to come’ in our economies.  I personally think 2012 has the potential to be a very interesting year, what with the UK hosting the 2012 Olympics this summer and America deciding on their next president in November.

Closer to home, History SPOT will continue to grow now that it is finally through its pilot phase and beta testing.  This year we will be bringing you new podcasts from past IHR events and those still to come in the following year.  We will also be adding to our online research training in the form of more handbooks and training courses.  Here, on this blog I plan to continue writing about our resources but I also hope to link it more closely to History SPOT itself and to add much more in the way of additional resources.  It should prove an exciting year for History SPOT!

In the meantime, the host of this blog, wordpress, have provided their yearly stat summary and as per 2010 (for 2010 stats click here) I thought it worthwhile sharing this with you.

More soon!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 9,600 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
