The History of Adoption

by

Anyone interested in the history of adoption in this country in the first half of the twentieth century should check out the discussion on this week’s Reviews in History. The IHR’s Jenny Keating published the first full-length book on the subject last year (A Child for Keeps: the History of Adoption in England, 1918-45), and this has now been reviewed at length by Daniel Grey. Jenny’s response is included here as well.
